NEBOSH National General Certificate

NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Health and Safety

Course Overview


This qualification covers the core health and safety issues involved in construction and aims to provide candidates with a comprehensive understanding of how to identify and manage workplace hazards. In construction, utilities and other related industries, employers find that the NEBOSH National Construction Certificate gives staff a sound understanding of managing workplace risks.

NCC2: Construction health and safety practical application

  • NCC2 The practical assessment is carried out in the candidate's own workplace. The practical must be completed within 10 days of the NCC1 written examination.



Assessments


The NEBOSH Construction Certificate course consists of three assessments:


  • An open book examination for NCC1 – Managing and Controlling Hazards in Construction Activities) 
  • A practical assessment carried out at your place of work (NCC2), to demonstrate that you can apply what you have learnt during the course to a real workplace.



NEBOSH Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management

Course Overview


More than 10,000 people have passed the NEBOSH National Certificate in Fire Safety and Risk Management. The qualification equips students with the necessary skills and knowledge to carry out fire risk assessments across a variety of workplaces. By the end of the course, candidates will be able to identify and implement a range of fire prevention measures.

Unit FC1: Fire Safety and Risk Management

  • Element 1 Managing fire safety.
  • Element 2 Principles of fire and explosion.
  • Element 3 Causes and prevention of fires
  • Element 4 Fire protection in buildings.
  • Element 5 Safety of people in the event of a fire.
  • Element 6 Fire safety risk assessment.


Unit FC2: Practical Risk Assessment



Assessments

The NEBOSH Fire Safety Certificate course consists of two assessments.


The classroom courses include the following:

  • Unit FC1 - Candidates must complete an open book exam
  • Unit FC2 - Candidates are required to complete a practical examination at their workplace. The assessment must take place within 10 days of completing the FC1 written examination.



IOSH Managing Safely


Course Overview


The IOSH Managing Safely training course gives people in positions of responsibility an overview of how to identify, evaluate, and control workplace risks. It helps those responsible for the safety and welfare of other workers to assess and control workplace risks. This includes evaluating the safety systems already in place within your organisation.



Who is this course suitable for?

IOSH Managing Safely is aimed at anyone with responsibility for other employees, including team leaders, supervisors, and managers.

IOSH Managing Safely is appropriate for staff across all industries, sectors and markets.



Course programme

IOSH Managing Safely includes 7 study units:


Unit 1: Introducing managing safely.

Unit 2: Assessing risks.

Unit 3: Controlling risks.

Unit 4: Understanding responsibilities.

Unit 5: Understanding hazards.

Unit 6: Investigating incidents.

Unit 7: Measuring Performance.



Assessments

IOSH Managing Safely is assessed in 2 parts:


  • Multiple-choice examination, in which candidates must demonstrate what they have learnt.Practical assessment, in which participants must show how to apply the knowledge they have gained throughout the course to real-life situations.


An IOSH Managing Safely certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of both parts of the assessment.


IOSH Working Safely


Course Overview


IOSH Working Safely provides basic training in health and safety for workers at all levels and industries. It also meets the UK government’s guidelines for introductory health and safety training. This is a broad entry-level course and is suitable for employees across the organisation.


Who is this course suitable for?

IOSH Working Safely is suitable for staff at all levels of a business, no matter their level of seniority.



Course programme

IOSH Working Safely includes 4 study units:


Module 1: Introducing working safely.

Module 2: Defining hazard and risk.

Module 3: Identifying common hazards.

Module 4: Improving safety performance.



Assessments

IOSH Working Safely is assessed in 2 parts:


  • Multiple-choice examination. A hazard spotting exercise.

An IOSH Working Safely certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of both parts of the assessment. Please note that all IOSH certificates are now digital.
